Barrel Racing Clinic
Saturday, June 25th, Melissa Jevicks, will be putting on a one day clinic at Soli Ranch in Perry, MI. This will mainly be aimed towards beginners that are looking to get into the barrel racing world. If you have wanted to try barrel racing, played around with it a bit, or always had that need for speed, this clinic is for you! There are 10 riding spots available at $100. If you do not have a horse to ride but are still interested in attending, you can audit for $20 and still feel like apart of the action.
To make sure you secure a riding slot, checks can be made out to Diamond J Ranch and mailed to PO Box 502, Carleton, MI 48117. 2 of the 10 slots have been filled so hurry in while you can!
The goal of this clinic will be for students to understand where to start, how to get involved, and gain a solid and correct foundation of the barrel pattern. Horses can begin arriving at 9:00 am and we will start the clinic at 10:00 am. We will have a 1-hour lunch break at 1:00 pm and finish up around 5:00 pm or shortly after.
The morning will start with a short presentation and questions can be answered at that time. Then, we will saddle up and start with leg, hand, and seat positioning along with some exercises. After lunch we will set up the barrel pattern and apply our new knowledge to all three turns. You will also get some one on one time before loading your horse back up. Once horses are all taken care of, we can meet back in the arena to answer any final questions that you may still have.
